What is

Publicis Groupe OS

?

The 'Publicis Growth OS' (PGOS) is a global operating system that seamlessly connects all the data and platforms necessary for delivering innovative marketing plans. It is a platform that truly drives growth and provides value for all clients. The most prominent innovation from Publicis Media was Growth OS, a system that the network says will allow all marketing partners—including clients and the non-Publicis agencies that are involved in much client work—to have the same comprehensive view of all kinds of data: purchase data, social-monitoring data and media-consumption data.

Growth OS is in use in some APAC markets and will be live across the region by the end of 2023.

What is the problem?

The problems that PGOS is trying to solve include:

  • Data fragmentation meant that Publicis Groupe's data sources were scattered across brands and agencies, creating silos that impeded data sharing and analysis.
  • Coordinating marketing efforts among multiple partners, each with its own tools and processes, proved to be a logistical challenge for collaboration efforts.
  • The absence of a unified view of data prevented Publicis agencies from gaining actionable insights into their customers and market trends.

What was the solution?

At Publics Media’s agencies, the focus was made on acquiring and managing clients with first-party data and facilitating second-party data partnerships. This connected end-to-end platform will serve as the one-stop-shop for everything from Client Briefing through to Analysis. It will be built on top of the existing Tools from across the organization and combine their data outputs and capabilities in a cohesive fashion. So instead of needing to access separate platforms, Planners, Strategists, and Analysts, will instead work in an easy-to-user Interface with modules like Client Growth Strategy, Audience Development & Insights, Dynamic Forecasting, Benchmarking, and Reporting & Optimization. To ensure a truly global platform is developed, the OS will incorporate local market planning and buying nuances.

  • Consistency: The design acumen, combined with a standardized design framework, ensured a consistent and user-friendly UX/UI experience across all products, reducing user confusion and improving engagement.
  • Accelerated Development: Rapid prototyping and design decisions contributed to a reduction in development time, allowing Publicis to bring products to market faster.
  • Data-Driven Design: Expertise in interpreting user feedback and analytics empowered Publicis Groupe to make informed design decisions, resulting in an increase in user satisfaction.

What was the approach?

Throughout the implementation of PGOS, I was elected as the principle UX/UI designer, and contributed to the research and design of the product in various ways. I started off by collaborating with the PGOS implementation team to ensure that the standardized design framework met the unique needs of Publicis Groupe's product line. Under the leadership of my head of design, creative director, and product managers, I was given full creative freedom to leverage my design expertise and actively engage in the rapid prototyping process enabling faster iteration and testing of new UX/UI designs.

  • Unified Design Framework: The global design team collaborated with the Publicis Sapient team to ensure that the standardized design framework met the unique needs of Publicis Groupe's product line.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Leveraging my design expertise, I actively engaged in the rapid prototyping process facilitated by PGOS, enabling faster iteration and testing of new UX/UI designs.
  • User Feedback Loop: I championed the integration of user feedback mechanisms and analytics, ensuring that the insights gathered were utilized to guide design refinements effectively.

My core responsibilities were to help build the design system out in Adobe XD, design the log-in and set-up screen screens, and help design the dashboard (cockpit), reporting, audience, and results modules. Due to the platform's ambitious vision, I actively helped train junior designers to facilitate a smooth onboarding process.
